The sweet taste of Ugandan Pineapple
Pineapples are an important export crop for Uganda, and the country is one of the largest pineapple producers in Africa. Our Ugandan pineapples have a unique, sweet, and tangy taste due to the ideal growing conditions and natural farming methods.
Regions, Climate & Altitude
We grow our Pineapple in Kayunga, situated in the Lake Victoria Crescent. Pineapple is a tropical crop that thrives in the warm and humid climates of Uganda’s eastern and central regions. It grows at altitudes between sea level and 1000 meters and requires a minimum of 1,000 mm of evenly distributed rainfall per year, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C. These conditions provide the ideal environment for pineapples to produce sweet and juicy fruit, making them a valuable crop for farmers in Uganda.
Harvest & Processing method
The pineapple plant takes about 18-24 months to mature. Each one is hand-picked at the peak of ripeness to ensure optimal flavor and quality. Our pineapples are then carefully and naturally processed in our factory, preserving their natural sweetness and nutritional value.
